NLD Management welcomes applications from:
- Young Performers: 4 – 17 years
- Adults: 18+ (Must be Spotlight registered)
Applicants can be based anywhere in the UK.
Young Performers (4-17 yrs): For young performers, acceptance to NLD Management is via self-tape audition only. To apply for representation please fill out the application form on the contact us page. If we wish to take your application further we will be in touch to request a self-tape audition.
Adults (18+): To apply for representation please fill out the application form on the contact us page. Please note you MUST include the link to your Spotlight profile which includes current showreel material. We cannot accept applications from non-Spotlight registers actors. Please ensure you also tell us a little bit about yourself (location, training, experience and special skills etc) in the message.
Please note:
- We do not accept applications for children under 4 years old.
- Please do not send applications via social media.
- Due to the volume of applications we receive, we will only contact you should we wish to take your application further.
There is no registration fee for joining NLD Management – no reputable agent would ever charge you to be on their books.
An annual Spotlight membership fee is essential so that we can submit clients for auditions. Spotlight membership is £121.20 for Young Performers and £183.60 for Adults.
It is also compulsory for every client represented by NLD Management to have a set of professional headshots. Headshots can start at £125+
We have an approved list of photographers around the country that we prefer our clients to use.
Please consider these costs before applying.
NLD Management works on a 20% commission for any work booked.
Castings can happen via self-tape (sending off a video) or in person across the UK (mainly London /Manchester) and are often at short notice. Clients need to be available for any castings that come up (even at the last minute).
There is no guarantee of castings/auditions. We put our clients forward for castings that come in only if they meet the casting criteria.
The industry is very tough and dealing with rejection is part of the audition process. Please consider how you / your child would deal with this part of the process before applying.
Most jobs will take place during the week. How much time off is required will depend on the type of job. If you are not comfortable with your child missing school or your child’s school is not supportive then agency representation is not for you.
Likewise for parents of young performers and our adult clients. Flexibility with your job / your employer is required in order to attend auditions / for any acting work booked.
NLD Management is a sole agency. Clients may have additional representation for modelling, however, this must be for stills only.
NLD Management works closely with Northern Lights Drama School in Yorkshire. We recommend the school for training, although there is no obligation for agency clients to attend classes.

If your child is already pupil of Northern Lights Drama School please DO NOT apply for representation.
SA Work – We consider ALL pupils of Northern Lights Drama School for supporting artist, background and extra work (if this is something you would like to do).
Speaking Roles – If we feel there is a pupil of the Drama School who is the right individual fit for a main cast role we contact the parent / guardian.
If we feel there are enough opportunities for a pupil of the Drama School within the agency then we may suggest your child joins Spotlight and gets a set of professional headshots.
